AN AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER FANFICTION
Prince Zuko & Katara (Zutara)
"Katara," he said softly.
She turned and looked at him. She was crying. He felt his heart sink. He hated to see her like this.
"Katara, what's wrong?" he asked as he took some steps forward.
"Just leave me alone Zuko," She said as she looked at the earthy floor and turned around.
"Katara, please... besides there's... something you gotta know,"
"What is it?"
"Well, first you have to tell me what is wrong,"
She released a sigh.
"I love you Zuko, I love you a lot. But my people will disown me and its hard to even think of that happening," She said without turning around or lifting her head.
"Katara, that's what I was going to tell you... I love you too. It may be forbidden but I think we both deserve what we want and all I want is you Katara,"
She turned, hurried over to him and burried her face into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her.
"No matter what, I am willing to do what ever it takes for your people to accept me for who I am and not as a part of the Fire Nation," He stated, with a tears building in his own eyes.
"You deserve better Zuko!"
"There isn't such thing as better than you! You are perfect to me. The only one who deserves better is you, Katara. I'm actually afraid that I will harm you. When I get mad, people get hurt and I cannot let that person be you. Not only that but, I'm just not a good man,"
Being in his arms' embrace she ceased to cry.
"Yes you are and no more arguing. We need to figure out how and when we can tell my people. Although, right now I am very tired,"
"You're right, and I am also tired,"
She looked him in the eyes.
"Is it okay if I spend the night in your tent? It may be the only way I can actually rest right now,"
"Sure," he said smiling, "I thought you would never ask."
They walked back to his tent hand in hand. He loved the coolness of her hands. They were never too cold and never too warm, always just right. He couldn't stop smiling at the fact that she loved him back.
Back at the tent he bended a flame at the tip of one if his index fingers so they could see. When they layed down he let it go out. He wanted to see her, but feeling her was enough. His eyes began to get droopy, as so did hers as they fell alseep. As he slept he dreamt of her, watching her water bend. No one made him happier than Katara.
